What We Did

BEFORE

This home was built in the early 1980’s and still had the original composition roof consisting of loose shingles and significant leaks.  The rain gutters were old and falling apart. The wood siding had extensive dry rot and signs of termites.  The exterior would greatly benefit from new paint and siding.  The front yard was neglected with weeds and crab grass.  An old tree stump was an eyesore in the large front yard.  The long driveway was dirty with oil stains and would need to be cleaned.

AFTER

The old composition roof was removed and replaced with brand new shingles and gutters.  The wood siding was removed and replaced with stucco that was painted a neutral beige color.  The exterior shutters were replaced with new wood and painted.  New gutters and downspouts were installed.  The old tree stump was gone and brand new sod replaced the old crab grass.  The driveway was power washed and the oil stains removed.  Accent bark was added to the flower beds, and the results were a complete transformation.

BEFORE

Upon entering the home, there was a den immediately to the left that was being used as a bedroom.  Renovest would need to make the right alterations to make this a functional fourth bedroom, as four-bedroom homes appeal to more homebuyers.  The carpeting and baseboards were in disrepair and dirty.  The popcorn ceilings were unappealing and would need to be scraped, textured, and repainted.  The old ceiling fan would need to be replaced with a new, more modern one. The dirty outdated tile in the entryway, would need to be replaced as well.  Like many homes in this area, there was a separation wall between the family room and kitchen. This would need to be removed in order to make the home feel more open and spacious.

AFTER

The den was now converted to a fourth bedroom, as an entry door was added along with a new closet.  The carpeting was removed and replaced with brand new, 20-inch porcelain tile, giving the home a warm and more modern feel.  All new baseboards, doors, casing, with trim were installed and painted.  The fireplace was cleaned, serviced, and new glass doors were installed.  New electrical switches and plugs were added throughout the home.

BEFORE

The original kitchen would need a full makeover for this home to sell for top dollar.  The cabinets were dirty, damaged, and outdated.  The old appliances were covered in grease and needed to be replaced.  This home was built on a raised foundation and had experienced some settling, which resulted in some drywall cracks throughout the home.  This drywall separation was most prominent in the kitchen area.  We needed to consult with our Renovest foundation expert in order to fix the damage and prevent future settling.  An unpermitted patio structure had been built off the kitchen and would also need to be torn down.  All new energy efficient lighting fixtures would need to replace the old ones.

AFTER

After a full renovation, the kitchen was transformed into a key selling feature of the home.  With the separation wall between the family room now removed, the kitchen became open and inviting.  New maple cabinetry was installed, as well as new granite countertops with a stone tile backsplash.  The refrigerator, range, and dishwasher were replaced.  Can lighting was added over the new stainless steel sink .  The unpermitted patio structure was removed, and now the large backyard could be seen once again from the kitchen window.  The foundation issues were addressed and the walls were repaired and repainted.

BEFORE

The master bathroom had dated wallpaper and old linoleum floors.  The vanity cabinetry was also outdated.  The shower stall surround was bent and separating from the wall, encouraging water intrusion with every use.  The shower pan was dirty and would need to be replaced.  The glass shower door would need be thoroughly cleaned.

AFTER

The wallpaper was removed and the walls were retextured and painted.  New tile flooring and baseboards were installed.  The vanity cabinet was now replaced with a new one, along with the addition of a new granite countertop.  All new lighting fixtures were installed, as well as a new toilet.

BEFORE

The master bedroom walls had suffered years of damage and neglect.  There were stains and holes in several places.  The old carpeting had exceeded its life and the baseboards were severely damaged.  The ceiling fan was outdated and in poor shape.  The original aluminum window had signs of previous leaks that would need to be patched and fixed.

AFTER

With a full makeover, the master bedroom was now open and inviting.  The popcorn ceilings were scraped, retextured, and painted.  The walls and baseboards were repaired and painted with a neutral color.  The window was replaced with a new vinyl widow and properly sealed to prevent future leaks.  New carpeting was added and a new ceiling fan installed.
